Grand National Directory is a free website dedicated to those illustrious horses who won the greatest steeplechase in the world. 

We all remember the greats such as Red Rum, who won the National three times. But there are many other horses who have made their name for all manner of reasons. Some brilliant, some lucky, some with stories you would never believe. However, all the horses on this website achieved the supreme title of winning the Grand National. 

I created this website for all those racing fans who love the Grand National. I've always been interested in horse racing. My father, Colin, enjoyed a day at the races and our school holidays saw us visit Great Yarmouth's Eastern Festival, which still goes strong today. We stayed at Caister-on-sea in a caravan on the sea front. A wonderful week of fun, eating too many candy flosses, playing on the one-armed bandits in the arcade and watching racehorses sprint the final furlong come rain or shine. Like so many times in life, you don't realise you had it so good. Thank you, Dad (and mum) for giving us the most brilliant childhood. 

Sadly, my father passed away in 1998. A man who had worked so hard all his life robbed of his retirement. There is no fairness in life. He gave us so much and my love of horse racing remains to this day. In fact, this love, knowledge and wisdom turned into my full-time business. I'm thankful and lucky to do a ''job'' I enjoy. 

Every September we go to Great Yarmouth's Eastern Festival in the memory of my Dad and all his friends and relatives who have sadly passed. His brothers Keith & Roy. Uncle Fred and Pete Miller. So many characters. The stories live on becoming even more precious with time.
